Right from the days I started this blog i have been constantly made to blink and pestered with this question. Wht does laout mean? I accept the fact tht we have nothing to do with the Los Angeles Organization of Ultimate Teams (LAOUT). But we believe one day it may happen (pewks!! some one is staring at me), but I hope we don’t get notorious with the name. Once in 2003, one laout member came out with a news that there is a word named laout in German, tht was one favour he did to us for attending the German classes. Thnks dude!!.Actually the name just came in from some ex member and as it was easy to pronounce..So was it..Laout.
Anyway some history on this will make it clear...It all started around the 1998-99 at our school at BVB, coimbatore, We had a shift system then which facilitated us very much. School used to complete at 12:30 pm and it is always gala time for us later. The reason said by the school administration for the shift system was to facilitate the student with their academics, so tht they can study in the afternoon time, but the true reason was the crunch of space at our school premises and tht too with our school located centrally it was indeed difficult to accumulate space. So wht do we do after 12:30,rush to home?naa..thts school boy stuff!!! sit on our cycles and chat to glory. it started with short time frame of 30 min to 1 hr and extended up to 5-6 hours. In the mean time, the next shift (1 - 4:30 to be precise) used to leave. then we thought thts the limit and got erased from the ground located just opp to our school.
This continued until millennium year when our school life came to an end. March 2K was it and we thought this is was the moment and we are goanna part ways and we were reminded of the prose lesson from our english language books "After twenty years" This was in relation tht hope we meet after twenty years. But fate/destiny had other thoughts.
Everyone got in to engineering college in and around Coimbatore. Our best time was the millennium year, the reason being some sort of trouble cropped up with TNPCEE and for the first time we had nothing to do for the whole lot of 6 months. (Apr 2k - Oct 2k)].All we had to do in tht period is to wake up at 6 am, meet at boys high school,rs puram ,play football until some old head master came and shooed us away to make place for their school prayers. Go home watch TV ,eat ,sleep wake up at 4:00 pm play cricket until the watchman comes behind us .. and wht next..go to dilip's house (we owe him a lot..a lot indeed. actually i need to do a separate posting for his services) and play cricket under the sodium vapour lamp lights (Thanks!!! Coimbatore corporation) and return home by 10pm.Just imagine wht would happen if this cycle continued for about 6-7 months .Actually it happened.
The next four years saw some spikes in the laout's activities.Though the time frame between our meeting had increased to a week, it was always a gala time time during the semester periods. This continued for all the 8 semesters until the day our respective colleges came to an end.Luckily most of them have their work stationed at Chennai except for unlucky guys like me and dev who are here in bangalore
Though we have had some memorable events like the trip to goa , interior karnataka ,guruvayoor and the never ending trips to the nilgiris and in and around coimbatore, last fortnight (29th may 2006) was one memorable event after a long time..It was shyam's(a laout geek) sister marriage..ok here is a walkthrough.
Many ppl have come and gone .In fact the disappointment is tht some of them are not found in the snap below. Whatever may be case we still welcome everyone with open arms. The ppl who have left us would definitely regret for not being there. Before we get any further, lem'me introduce everyone.Below is the snap taken at the IAB prior to attending the reception.

Standing:(from left) Srinath(a lateral entry) ,Gochi(a laout geek),indru(LG),myself(off course LG),Shyam (LG),Swamy(trouble some LG),

Sitting:(from left) Sathya(a LE),delhi madhu(a LE),MS(LG),bibin(LG),hari(a Sheikh LG),chaitu(LG).

One guy named Devendra (refugee from kolkatta) is actually missing due to career commitments.

The LGs and LEs are classifed based on my personal knowledge and sorry if u feel this is contradictory with urs.

@ Shyam's Sibling's Marriage.

Entered the marriage hall admist a voice of "Kappi sapptella naa ,Tiffin Saptella naa".But as a matter of routine practice we had to ignore him and look out for something else (hidden variable).Tht guy was missing from our circles after he heard our gossips on him.Sorry shyam..we had to make him feel our presence!!Ok anyhow lets move on..

28th May: 8:00pm

Just arrived @ the reception.BigB there supporting the congress?I thought he was a communist from malabar(oops!! sorry i never remembered tht the congress and communist were alliances @ the centre)... anyway to tell the truth he was imitating puttaparthi saibaba there (Potrait's of PS' were hanging @ the backdrop of the dais...for proof scroll down).Any Saibaba devotees... please excuse.

28th May: 8:30pm

LAOUT with the bride(Shyam's sibling) and the bridegroom.Scan the backdrop for the proof on the above said statement. For all those from BVB, coimbatore our VP(Ms Nagalakshmi ma'am) had paid visit to the reception and unfortunately we did not meet her as our laout protocol does not allow us in doing so.So should we blame it on the protocol? No answer from my side though.

28th May : 9:00pm (@ the dinner)

I can easily say that they are posing with a some difficulty (reason:they have had a heavy dinner) desperately waiting for the flash.Noted additions to the photo is Mr.Rajeev (an yesteryear member standing third from left)

28th May : 9:30pm

After the full dose buffet (i drank 3 cups of payasam and 2 cups of icecream to finish with) in front of the marriage hall(Ayyappan pooja sangam, Ramnagar, Coimbatore).Noteworthy addition to the snap is ArunAnand(second from right). At the end we went to the much talked about movie "Fanaa"..If anyone out there planning to go to the movie my advice..infact our advice .."Prevention is better than cure".Anyhow if u r fond of Shayaris here is one from our side..

E Khuda Aaj Ye Faisla Karde,

Use Mera ya Mujhe Uska Karde.

Bahut Dukh Sahe He Maine,

Koi Khusi Ab Toh Muqadar Karde.

Bahot Muskil Lagta Hai Usse Duur Rehna,

Judai Ke Safar Ko Kum Karde.

Jitna Duur Chale Gaye Woh Mujhse,

Use Utna Kareeb Karde.

Nahi Likha Agar Nasib Me Uska Naam,

To Khatam Kar Ye Zindagi aur Mujhe FANAA Karde.

Don't look at me like that..Its a plain copy and paste ...Is it Hindi or urdu or sanskrit yaar?Any inputs?LAOUT has comitted to memorize atleast one of them. All the best guys!!!
