"Smart Solutions" From laloo's team
Sunday, December 03, 2006
As an aftermath of the last month's Auto rickshaw -train collision that happened near kancheepuram last month, laloo's team (Ministry of railways) have come up with a series of solutions (may be the best they could have thought of) that was published as an advertisement on The Hindu provided by the Ministry of Railways. To brief you people about the accident, the collision happened due to yet another unmanned level crossing which are common in India. The solutions are
- The driver has to stop the vehicle before 30-50 meters before the level crossing.
- The cleaner (only in case of trucks) has to go to the level crossing and check whether any trains are visible and has to alert the driver.
- In case its your own vehicle and you don't have a junior besides you,its your own responsibility to go and do the above duty.
My take: The Ministry of railways doesn't hold any responsibility in case you meet with an accident in spite of you following the above instructions. The plan is to make an analysis (not to forget about the inquiry commission) on the way about how you met with an accident and come up with yet an other "smart solution".Hope you are alive to read the advertisement.
