History was created when the Bangalore Midnight Marathon 2007 was flagged off 10 minutes past 12:00 am last Saturday night. It was the first time in the history of the world a Marathon was held at the stroke of midnight errr... Ok 10 min later. It was flagged off by the south Indian actress Ramya.Due to lack of practice/confidence, I did not take the risk of taking up the half marathon/marathon.Instead played safe running the IT city run which was a meagre 5.5 kms.Crossover Sports had done a pretty good work w.r.t logistics. For some particular reason the BMM 07 did not get the real feel of a traditional marathon. But a very good initiative to start with.

IGate was the lead sponsor for the event.
These Sanjeevnis played the role of a shuttle for some top brass gals at the end of the event.
I never knew the bulb was a blockade for green peace until i saw this.
A message through a show of creativity.Guna helping out SC with the number card.
Minister for Industries Katta Subramanya Naidu flagged of the IT city run.The two sides of the BMM '07:
Above:Bangalore's culture and tradition on a high.
Below:Bangalore's night culture on a high.
This guy set an bad example to all the runners by enjoying a fag (brit accent) before, after and during the marathon.Sadly he was also the race director of the BMM 07.Also if you notice this snapshot keenly he has a fag (brit accent) covered beneath his palm just for the sake of this snap. The runners for life group.
South indian actress Ramya flagged off the marathon. She looks better off the screen than on screen.

The flagging of the marathonThis post is dedicated to Mr.Basappaiya and the beauty with the blue shorts in the background(card no:170).Mr.Basappaiya is a farmer from Shimoga district (North of karnataka) and came 10th in the last Bangalore marathon that took place in september 2006.FYI he also ran bare foot.
The last time i saw this gal in the background, she was running alone in the deserted road when it was around 4:30 am and most of them had given up.It was pure courage to complete the marathon.Hats off to you guys.
